Windy Arbour

The desire for Windy Arbour was to propose a modern house, but one respectful to its setting. The use of Art and Crafts massing and detailing – interpreted in a more contemporary idiom – such as the sprocketed eaves and roof hips break down the additional mass of the building by taking cues from homes elsewhere on Windy Arbour and from wider English precedent.

Greater spatial ‘flow’ between the inside and the outside spaces, and a bright naturally-lit environment is made possible due to the use of extensive glazing and slide/fold screens to the rear of the house.
