Bolton Cancer Voices has today launched their website, giving the world a window on their unique and inspirational Choir.

Visitors to the website can read the history of the Choir, find out how to support them, see what some of the members have to say, check forthcoming events, view their photo album and watch clips of the Choir in action.

Karen Elliott – Chair, said: –

‘It’s taken us quite a while to get to this point but it’s been worth the wait; we are really proud of the results and hope lots of people will visit our site, be inspired by our story and follow our journey.

No one should feel alone with cancer: it might sound a bit strange to talk about receiving a cancer diagnosis and joining a Choir in the same sentence but you have only to listen to the testament of our members to realize the potential benefits. Receiving a cancer diagnosis can be life changing: joining Bolton Cancer Voices can be life affirming. Rehearsals provide a weekly opportunity to focus on something other than the rigours of treatment, in a supportive environment where everyone understands the challenges you are facing.’

Bolton Cancer Voices is currently recruiting additional cancer patients and cancer survivors, along with healthcare professionals whose role involves the treatment, care or support of cancer patients in hospital or the community, to appear on stage with them in their forthcoming Christmas Concert ‘Jingle Bell Sing-A-Long’, in the Victoria Hall, Bolton, on Saturday 5th December.

The concert, which for the first time this year will feature the Greater Manchester Police Band, has a strong audience participation element where everyone comes together in rousing voice to sing a selection of carols and well-known Christmas melodies.

Potential participants in the massed Choir must be able to attend 5 rehearsals in the lead up to the event. There are no geographical restrictions to the invitation, as long as people can get to Bolton for rehearsals and no requirement to read music: all they ask is that you love singing and want to be part of a great local event.

To enquire about taking part in ‘Jingle Bell Sing-A-Long’ contact Karen on 01204 595562 / 07773 164235 or email Boltoncancervoices@yahoo.com.

Tickets for ‘Jingle Bell Sing-A-Long’ are available, priced £5-00, from the Ticket Secretary on 01204 883977 and as a special early Christmas present if you buy 10 tickets in a single transaction you get the 11th FREE!’
